Regular Staff
On our end, this is what we expect from our staff:
Proactive people that can take initiative. Transparency is highly valued at Meownistry and we aim to have a flat company structure. Experience with cats and customers is not necessary but a positive attitude and willingness to learn is more important.
The staff should be able to do half shift or full shift, from 10.30am-10.30pm daily for full shift. Half shifts are 10.30am-4.30pm and 4.30pm-10.30pm with a bit of wiggle room on the start and end timings. Shift selection is flexible. Staff is expected to stay on the premises during the entire shift, however staff can eat while on duty.
Our rates are at $10/hour nett. 2 shifts' worth of unpaid training will be involved before paid shifts.
Job role:
- Clean up after cats - scoop litterboxes
- Feed cats and administer medication
- Play with the cats as needed
- Conflict management between cats
- Basic grooming - cut nails and trim fur as needed
- Clean the space regularly on a roster
- Attend to customers who come visit the space
- Admin duties like replying to whatsapp messages and issuing invoices, counting stock.
- Occasional social media posts via the company accounts inside the shop phone
Staff must be willing to work independently as they will be the only ones on shift. However help will be available remotely as needed.
Commission-based event planner
We are also looking for a commission-based event planner for our facility. The commission percentage can be discussed but it is typically up to 50%, and materials cost are generally to be absorbed by the event planner. We will assist with marketing and potentially other collateral.
Event planners are expected to:
- Plan event from start to finish
- Discuss what is needed from Meownistry
- Host the event (if necessary)

Volunteer with us!
Volunteer roles that are available:
- Play with cats, teach them tricks
- Basic cat grooming (sometimes nail clipping is a two person job)
- Take pictures / videos of cats for social media
- Organising events
- Any other help that staff may require
