Meet our Singapore rescue cats!

Most of our cats at Meownistry are adoptable (except permanent staff at the very bottom). If you are keen, do come down to meet and interact with the cats to see which ones are the best personal fit for you!

Checkers

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 1 years old

Breed: Tuxedo domestic short hair

Checkers was found roaming at the Tuas factory area and gave birth to some kittens (with another fosterer; up for adoption as well!). She is now spayed and ready for a forever home! She is good friends now with Waffles and can be adopted together with him or separately.

Garnet / Mui Mui (Private Room 2)

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 10 years old

Breed: Calico domestic short hair

Previously roaming the streets at Bukit Timah, the rest of the community cats there have disappeared and left Garnet on her own. Rescuer is hoping to find her a loving home and retire her from being a street cat.

BabyG

Gender: Female

Estimated age: 4 years old

Breed: black cat

BabyG is a gentle cat who was rescued from the Sixth Avenue area. She is still shy around humans and need our visitors to show that people are not a threat! She had a brother who has since passed away.

Shinju

Gender: Male

Estimated Age: 1 years old

Breed: Tabby/Persian mix

Casper and Shinju both came from the same household and they were brought to Meownistry when the owner was no longer capable of taking care of them on their own. Shinju - meaning "Pearl" - will roll over for pets. He has occasional fits which we are controlling with medication and observation. He also has a grade 4 heart murmur that we are investigating as well.

While we originally wanted to have him here as a resident cat, we decided that in his best interests, he should go to a home where he can get focused attention from his adopter for the sake of his health.

Shinju needs a little extra care due to some medical conditions, which is why we’re hoping to find a home where he can receive more dedicated attention.

He has seizures that are currently controlled with lifelong medication, and a heart murmur caused by a small hole in his heart that will need to be monitored.

Because of this, he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Ideally, he should not sleep in a separate room so he can be monitored, and a soft, safe space is recommended in case of any episodes.

Mittens 

Gender: Male

Estimated Age: 4 years old Breed: Tabby domestic short hair

Mittens is a laid-back tabby with two different coloured eyes and a calm, gentle personality to match. He was recently found stray in the Ang Mo Kio area and is suspected to have been abandoned. Despite everything, Mittens remains affectionate with people and enjoys quietly lounging around while observing everything happening around him.

Mittens has been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a genetic condition that affects the kidneys. He is currently doing well and only requires regular health monitoring at this stage. As he grows older, he may need additional kidney support and dietary management, but for now he is enjoying life as any cat should.

Gino

Gender: Male

Estimated Age: 2 years old

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Gino was rescued from the Tuas industrial area and is honestly one of the easiest cats to befriend here. He has a tiny white patch on his chest and chin that looks like a little bow tie, which somehow matches his friendly personality perfectly.

He loves attention, follows people around, and is usually one of the first cats to come say hi. Very easy to handle, very playful, and sometimes gives tiny licks when he’s feeling extra affectionate.

If you want a cat that’s interactive and constantly involved in whatever you’re doing, Gino would probably fit right in!

Dino

Gender: Male

Estimated Age: 2 years old

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Dino was also rescued from the Tuas industrial area and has slowly been getting more comfortable with people during his stay with us.

One thing about Dino: he LOVES high places. Top of the door, aircon, cabinets, tallest cat tree… if there’s an elevated spot somewhere, he’ll probably end up there eventually.

He’s curious, playful, and enjoys attention, but in a quieter and more observant way compared to Gino. We think he’d do really well in a home with lots of climbing spaces and people who don’t mind occasionally looking up to find him sitting somewhere impossible 😆

Helen (Private Room 3)

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 1 year old

Breed: Tabby domestic short hair

Helen was rescued from the Tuas South area while pregnant and is currently waiting to give birth in a safe and comfortable environment. Despite everything she has been through, she has remained calm and gentle, and we’re hoping both Helen and her future kittens will have a better start ahead.

Helen’s Kittens (Private Room 3)

Gender: 2 female tabbies, 2 male oranges

Estimated age: 2 months old

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Helen welcomed four adorable kittens at the end of May after she was rescued from the Tuas area. Her litter consists of Cheesecake (solid orange), Sponge Cake (orange tabby), Earl Grey Cake (tabby with black feet), and Marble Cake (striped tabby with white feet).

The kittens are growing well under Mama Helen's care. They're now starting to eat solid food, learning to use the litter box, and becoming more curious about the world around them. As they're still young, their future adopters will need to continue with their vaccinations, sterilisation, and routine vet care.

We hope Marble Cake can be adopted together with Helen, while Sponge Cake and Earl Grey Cake find a loving home together. Cheesecake is looking for a home with another friendly cat, so he will always have a companion to grow up with.

Kelly

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 6 years old

Breed: Calico domestic short hair

Kelly is a cautious calico who used to live around the SIM / Hwa Chong area. She's still very wary of people and will usually run away the moment she spots someone nearby. Even when she's hiding, she's always keeping a close eye on her surroundings to make sure it's safe before coming out.

Food, however, is Kelly's weakness. She loves to eat and will happily tolerate a few pets if tasty snacks are involved. We're giving Kelly all the space, patience, and time she needs to settle in, and we hope that, with time, she'll slowly gain the confidence to trust people and eventually find a loving home where she can truly feel safe.

Flora (in quarantine area)

Gender: Female

Age: 2 years old

Flora is a cat found at the Tuas factory area and one of our newest residents, with Lux. Stay tuned as we wait for them to recover from their sterilisation and for their personality to bloom :)

Autumn (on level 3)

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 6 months old

Breed: Tortie domestic short hair

Autumn is a 6 month old tortoiseshell kitten from the Tuas area. She was rescued together with her brother, Julius, while efforts are still ongoing to bring their mother to safety.

Autumn is still learning to trust people. She might hiss if she's startled by sudden movements, but she's more scared than spicy. In fact, she's never tried to scratch or bite anyone. She is incredibly wriggly and will do everything she can to wiggle her way out of being held.

We're giving Autumn all the space, patience, and time she needs to settle in, and we hope that, with time, she'll learn that she's safe with people and find the loving home she deserves.

Julius (on level 3)

Gender: Male

Estimated Age: 6 months old

Breed: Orange domestic short hair

Julius is a 6 month old orange kitten from the Tuas area. He was rescued together with his sister, Autumn, while the rescuers are still trying to bring their mother to safety.

Just like Autumn, Julius is more scared than spicy. He rarely hisses, and when he does, his big, pitiful eyes make him look more scared than scary. He's never tried to scratch or bite anyone, though he's just as talented as his sister at wriggling his way out of being held. Julius is also a little braver than Autumn, especially when food is involved.

We're looking forward to watch Julius continue to grow in confidence as he settles into life at Meownistry. With plenty of patience (and perhaps plenty tasty treats), we hope he'll find a loving home where he can feel safe and loved.

Bubbles (Reception)

Gender: Male

Age: 3 years old

We are temporarily fostering Bubbles while their owner's house is undergoing renovation. Very food motivated and energetic, he gets zoomies every night. Bullies Honey a bit because he wants to play and she never wants to play with him. Will sit on your lap and purr if he’s comfortable with you. He’s quite smart he knows how to give paw, high five and stand up as tricks.

Honey (Reception)

Gender: Female

Age: 4 years old

We are temporarily fostering Honey while their owner's house is undergoing renovation. Honey’s a little shy but very sweet when she trusts you. Skittish around new people, but when she warms up to you she’ll follow you around and demand pets and butt pats all the time.

On Home Trial

These are cats that are currently away trialing an adoption. It's one last step before graduating from Meownistry!

Gender: Female (Cookie) and Male (Oreo)

Estimated Age: 1 year old

Breed: Domestic short hair

These kittens are rescued when their mother Lucky gave birth outside. Playful and loves to climb up on you when given the chance. We are prioritising pair adoptions as these two are very close. They are very playful and can be seen running all over the floor chasing each other up and down the stairs as well.

Oreo has wobbly cat syndrome from an earlier infection which limits his jumping ability. However, that does not stop him from climbing as much as he can to reach what he wants. We put out pet stairs so that he can explore to his heart's content.

Permanent Staff

These are cats that will be at Meownistry for a while as we try out their suitability to be a cat that visitors can always greet and see.

Casper

Gender: Female

Estimated Age: 2 years old

Breed: Persian/American curl mix

Casper and Shinju both came from the same household and they were sent to Meownistry when the owner was no longer capable of taking care of them on their own. Friendly and playful, she has developed an obsession with running water. Loves to whack anything you wave in front of her.
